我有必要为自己辩解几句.楼上说的是有问题的,separate不是“把sth分开”的意思!分开是短暂性动词,怎么可能for millions of years呢?
separate意思应该就是“隔开”的意思,是一种延续几百万年的,“被”海洋阻隔的状态,所以肯定是被动,而且是by oceans,而不是nature force
不用被动的话,可以这么写：
Having been away from other.
是的，Australia is separated from other continents (by natural forces).
separate后面要是有from，一定是固定搭配be separated from。
我知道你想理解成“分离”的意思，但是separate不是中文的分离（不及物动词，可以不加宾语），它是及物动词，separate sth，一定要加宾语，是“把...
