It depends.For some degree,yes.Greed for knowlede,passion,love and success is a positive attitude in everyday living,it helps people persue virtue and do things good.
However,in some negative way,greed could be a bad and dangerous thing.If a lawyer is greed for money and fame,he may help some one to escape punishment by law,innocent wictim will suffer from mental/physical/material loss or damage.If an offical is greed for money,he may corrupt the money from the tax payer,public facility which should be constructed may be delayed and many projects/science research may be cancelled because out of fund.
It's just like each coin has two sides,we mustn't jump into conclusions or simple agreement or disagreement on one thing,further consideration should be taken.
