In the paper,the optimal pole-arc to pole-pitch ratio for the torque characteristic is presented by analyzing the effect of torque ripple as well as back EMF waveform.Second,we analyze the characteristics according to the saliency due to the duct structures in which the PM is inserted.The saliency has relation with q-axis and d-axis magnetic paths for magnetic flux.
The demagnetization capability should be investigated for the design of the IPMSM.Design of the duct structure has an effect on the durability of demagnetization.Once demagnetization takes place,the performance of the HEV is critically deteriorated [4].For the characteristic analysis,2-D FEM is used.The EMF experiment result is compared with the simulation result for verification of the analysis method.

torque ripple:因磁力互斥而产生的力矩的不平滑性.转子和定子之间距离近的时候torque(力矩)大,远的时候力矩小,这种因距离产生的大小不一的力矩就像波浪一样,所以叫ripple.
cogging torque:转子形成的磁场和定子的槽中间的磁场相互作用,产生的力矩.这种力矩是转动的阻力.
